ISO 15489 Records Management

Assessing Your Organisation Against ISO 15489 Records Management

This course will be held:

  • 16 - 17 August 2010, Brisbane

Working within the frameworks of AS 3806 Compliance Programmes and ISO 15489 Records Management, this course explores how organisations can establish effective, efficient and accountable recordkeeping. It explores the purpose and value of recordkeeping within private and public sector organisations and works through the steps involved in establish a recordkeeping compliance programme and assessing recordkeeping against ISO 15489 Records. At the completion of this course participants will have commenced an assessment of their records management program using RIMDoctor.com.au and a draft action plan for improving recordkeeping within their organisations.

This course costs $880, including GST, per participant.

The course fee includes arrival tea and coffee, lunch, morning/afternoon teas, course notes and two assessments using the ISO 15489 Records Management Comprehensive Check-up.

Business Process Analysis for Recordkeeping

This course will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on:

  • 28 - 29 October 2010, Brisbane

Based on ISO/TR 26122 Work Process Analysis for Recordkeeping this two day workshop guides participants through purpose, value and use of work process analysis to support the creation, capture and management of records. It explores and applies two types of analyses:

  1. functional analysis (decomposition of functions into processes), and
  2. sequential analysis (investigation of the flow of transactions).

It also discusses the relationship between the two types of analyses and how they may be used to support the development and application of retention and disposal schedules, classification schemes for records and integrating records into business processes.

This course costs $650, including GST, per participant

Writing and Reviewing Recordkeeping Policies

This course will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on:

  • 25 October 2010, Brisbane

Based on the requirements of ISO 15489 Records Management, this ‘hands-on’ full day workshop will guide participants in drafting a simple, clear and comprehensive policy for managing their organisation’s records. It will also provide participants with a checklist for assessing the quality and effectiveness of organisational policies .Topics covered include:

  • Audience
  • Authority
  • Drafting process
  • Consultation and review
  • Assessing policies
