ISO 15489 Records Management
CIMS develops and delivers a number of courses to assist organisations in the implementation of best practice records management as outlined in ISO 15489 Records Management. These courses are:

Assessing Your Organisation Against ISO 15489 Records Management (aka ISO 15489 Assessments)
Working within the frameworks of AS 3806 Compliance Programmes and ISO 15489 Records Management, this course guides participants through a self-assessment of their records management programs against the key requirements identified in ISO 15489-1 Records Management. At the completion of this course participants will have commenced an assessment of their records management program using RIMDoctor.com.au and prepared a draft action plan for improving recordkeeping within their organisations.
This course costs $600, including GST, per participant. (GST does not apply to NZ courses).
The course fee includes arrival tea and coffee, lunch, morning/afternoon teas, course notes, two assessments using the ISO 15489 Records Management Comprehensive Check-up and use of computers to undertake practical activities.

Auditing and Monitoring Records Management Programs
Working within the frameworks of AS 3806 Compliance Programmes and ISO 15489 Records Management, this course explores how organisations can establish effective, efficient and accountable recordkeeping programs. It explores the purpose and value of recordkeeping within private and public sector organisations and works through the steps involved in establishing a recordkeeping compliance programme and assessing recordkeeping against ISO 15489 Records Management. The course includes a practical hands-on overview of current tools available for evaluating records management programs. At the completion of this course participants will have commenced an assessment of their records management program using RIMDoctor.com.au and prepared a draft action plan for improving recordkeeping within their organisations.

Business Process Analysis for Recordkeeping
This course will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on:
- 23 - 24 July 2012, Melbourne
- 6 - 7 August 2012, Perth
- 10 - 11 September 2012, Sydney
- 23 - 24 October 2012, Wellington New Zealand
Based on ISO/TR 26122 Work Process Analysis for Recordkeeping this two day workshop guides participants through purpose, value and use of work process analysis to support the creation, capture and management of records. It explores and applies two types of analyses:
- functional analysis (decomposition of functions into processes), and
- sequential analysis (investigation of the flow of transactions).
It also discusses the relationship between the two types of analyses and how they may be used to support the development and application of retention and disposal schedules, classification schemes for records and integrating records into business processes.
This course costs $715, including GST, per participant. (GST does not apply to NZ courses). Courses delivered in New Zealand cost $AUD 650.00 and are exclusive of GST. A 10% group discount applies to our courses where one organisation registers two or more people using the one registration form.

Working within the framework of ISO 16175-3:2010 Information and documentation - Principles and functional requirements for records in electronic office environments - Part 3: Guidelines and functional requirements for records in business systems, this course explores how organisations can develop recordkeeping strategies for managing records generated, accessed or stored in business systems. During the course participants will apply ISO 16175-3:2010 to a variety of recordkeeping scenarios including the evaluation of business systems for recordkeeping capability and developing functional requirements for recordkeeping in business systems. The course will also draw on the key requirements contained in ISO 15489-1 Records Management and provide clarity on the current best practice records management standards framework in Australia and New Zealand. This course is suitable for participants from private and public sector organisations.
