Introduction to Records Management
This course is delivered on the behalf of Recordkeeping Innovation. It will be held over 2 consecutive days from 9:00am to 5:00pm on:
- 12-13 April 2010, Brisbane
- 24-25 August 2010, Brisbane
Focusing on what records management means and what tasks are involved, Introduction to Records Management addresses both electronic and physical records. The course explains the basic tasks from creation, capture, registration, classification of records to suit business needs and the requirements from internal and external drivers to maintain records responsibly. The two day course focuses on developing basic skills and providing a solid understanding of the overview of records tasks. It features practical exercises, undertaken both individually and in groups.
Course objectives
By the end of this course participants should be able to:
- Explain the importance and value of records
- Outline the key laws and standards impacting on records management in NSW
- Describe the fundamental activities of records management.
Learner profile
This course is designed for those seeking to upgrade their administration skills, starting a career in Records Management or recently assigned responsibilities for managing records. The course will provide these participants with an understanding of the basic records management tasks and serve as a refresher for those already working with records.
Course fees
The fee for this two day course is $650 including GST.
A 10% discount is offered for the 2nd and subsequent participants from one organisation at one course on the same day.
A 10% discount is offered for those participants attending two of the following courses within 6 months of the first course.
